Beautiful Budapest

What an amazing stay at the Intercontinental Budapest! The hotels location is perfect for navigating Budapest Hungary. Also, the view from my room…wow! This is a Queen Classic River View and just perfect for my 4 day stay! In addition to a stunning view from my room I also went to the Club Lounge on the 2nd floor. Here you can enjoy breakfast with a view or a cocktail and wine in the evening while enjoying light appetizers. I especially enjoyed trying the Hungary wine selection. I absolutely can not wait to be back to explore more of this city and have a wonderful stay here again.

Budapest: The Pearl of the Danube

Budapest, Hungary's stunning capital, is actually two cities in one—Buda and Pest—divided by the majestic Danube River and connected by iconic bridges. This UNESCO World Heritage city seamlessly blends imperial grandeur with vibrant modern culture.

Széchenyi Chain Bridge - The city's first permanent bridge connecting Buda and Pest, spectacular when lit at night.

Buda Castle - The massive royal palace houses the Hungarian National Gallery and offers commanding views over the Danube.

Thermal Bath Culture

Széchenyi Thermal Baths - Europe's largest medicinal bath complex, featuring 18 pools where locals play chess while soaking in mineral-rich waters.

Gellért Baths - Art Nouveau elegance meets therapeutic relaxation in this historic spa with ornate mosaics and stunning architecture.

Rudas Baths - Dating from the Ottoman era, these atmospheric baths feature a unique octagonal pool under a Turkish dome.

Cultural Highlights

Great Market Hall - Budapest's largest indoor market, perfect for sampling Hungarian delicacies like lángos and chimney cake.

Jewish Quarter - Home to Europe's largest synagogue and vibrant ruin bars like Szimpla Kert, where eclectic décor meets craft cocktails.

Danube River Cruises - Evening boat rides showcase the illuminated cityscape, earning Budapest its nickname "Paris of the East."

Culinary Delights

Savor traditional goulash, schnitzel, and strudel, paired with excellent Hungarian wines. The city's coffee house culture rivals Vienna's, with grand cafés like New York Café offering imperial elegance.

Budapest captivates with its thermal springs, stunning architecture, rich history, and surprisingly affordable luxury—making it one of Europe's most rewarding destinations.
