Kimpton Sawyer Hotel, Sacremento, CA
The Kimpton Sawyer Hotel located in Sacramento California is my home away from home. With only a short 2 hours drive from San Francisco, this hotel makes it possible for me and my friends to get away from the cool temperatures of The City and enjoy fun in the sun. The hotel is also easy to get to via the Amtrak train terminal only 2 blocks away. It’s central location within Sacramento make it a destination for people looking to go out for bars, restaurants and to hit up a game at the Golden 1 Center, home to the Sacramento Kings basketball team.
While staying at The Sawyer I normally am positioned in a comfy pool side chair at the rooftop pool. During the day this is the place to sip a nice cocktail, sun, and enjoy relaxing tunes. One summer I was there they even had complimentary Dole Whips for people to cool off their taste buds. At night on the weekends it transforms into a fun vibrant cocktail lounge feel so you can enjoy the views of the city lights sparkling around.
After a enjoyable day out in the sun at 5pm the Social Hour starts in the hotel lobby. This Kimpton goes beyond welcoming with several choices of wine, beers, and sometimes a spiked punch with vodka or tequila. The restaurant, Revival, partners to provide nice nibbles to sample of their culinary cuisine. It’s a great warm up to the night before heading out on the town.
My favorite part about staying at the Sawyer is I really never have to leave the hotel for anything, but if you are looking to venture out, Midtown is full of lively bars and clubs to dance the night away in. When you get back home to the hotel the luxuries bathroom helps wash away the night and lets you slip into the soft linen sheets for a great night sleep. Waking up the next morning is always difficult for myself and Koda the Frenchie.
Koda the Frenchie gives the hotel and its’ staff 4 Paws of Approval for the constant attention to detailed head rubs, soft cuddly beds, and gourmet blue berry dog treats.
Sawyer Staff are The Best!
This year I took my best friends up for his 39th Birthday and the staff provided the wow factor for he and I…upgraded to the Presidential Suite of 1271 sqft, king bed, a soaking spa tub, a separate living area, and a dining area and a spacious private balcony, which we viewed the fireworks from that night. The staff here really are the crown jewels for the hotel!
