The Pyramids of Egypt

Today was a bucket list check box day! Seeing Giza Pyramids, riding a camel terrifying, having a lunch with an amazing view, and a boat ride down the Nile River. This is what life is meant for, seeing the world that we all enjoy. I started the day arriving in the Port of Alexandria on my Atlantis Cruise. There we were picked up by a private motor couch with some of my closest friends and journeyed the 3 plus hours to see one of the wonders of the world.

Standing majestically on the Giza plateau just outside Cairo, the Pyramids of Giza remain humanity's most awe-inspiring architectural achievement. Built over 4,500 years ago, these limestone monuments continue to baffle scientists and captivate millions of visitors annually.

The Great Pyramid of Khufu, the largest of the three, originally stood 481 feet tall and was constructed using approximately 2.3 million stone blocks, each weighing 2-15 tons. For nearly 4,000 years, it held the record as the world's tallest man-made structure.

The complex features three main pyramids—Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure—each serving as eternal resting places for pharaohs. The mysterious Great Sphinx, with its lion's body and human head, guards the complex, adding to the site's mystique.

Today's visitors can enter the pyramids' narrow passages, explore burial chambers, and witness the precision that has puzzled engineers for millennia. The sound and light show at sunset transforms the monuments into a magical spectacle.

Located just 30 minutes from Cairo, the pyramids are easily accessible. Visit early morning to avoid crowds and heat, and don't forget to capture that classic tourist photo "holding up" the pyramid!

These timeless wonders prove that some achievements transcend time itself.
